Oyo NUJ Mourns Suya Merchant, Bala, Condoles Family

The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, Alhaji Ademola Babalola, led members of his Executive to visit the family of Bala, the renowned Suya vendor at the Oyo NUJ Press Center, who passed away in the early hours of Saturday during a brief illness at his Sabo residence.

Bala was the first and longest-serving tenant of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Oyo State Council. He had been selling Suya at the Millennium Press Center for nearly 40years.

In his condolence message, the Chairman described Bala as a hardworking and kind-hearted individual, offering his sympathies to the family and praying that God grants strength to all those he left behind.

The family head, who is Bala’s eldest brother, expressed gratitude to the NUJ team for their support and compassion.

He announced that the three-day Fidau prayers will take place on Monday, December 30, at 8:00AM.

Chairman Babalola assured that Oyo NUJ will be fully represented.
