Oyo NUJ Celebrates Jubril Dotun Sanusi at 56

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Oyo State Council has showered accolades on Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, Akanran, Ibadan, the state capital, recognising him as a “rare personality” and a “blessing to humanity” as he marks his 56th birthday.

In a statement from NUJ Chairman, Chief Ademola Babalola, and Secretary, Comrade Olusola Oladapo, the council drew attention to Sanusi’s immense contributions to the socio-economic landscape of Ibadan and Nigeria at large.

“Through his leadership at Ilaji Hotels, which has become a cornerstone of the Akanran community, Sanusi has not only created numerous job opportunities but also fostered transformative change that has rippled through the local economy.

“His commitment to uplifting the community through sustainable development is unparalleled. When people earn a living, they invest back into the market, and the impact of his effort goes beyond what one can quantify.

The NUJ also noted Sanusi’s long-standing relationship with Ibadan’s traditional institution and notable monarchs in other parts of Oyo State as well as other parts of Yorubaland.

“Engineer Jubril Dotun Sanusi is our patron, and he has been relating very well with journalists in Oyo State. He is a man who has listening ears. He relates with the highs and the lows without categorising himself as a billionaire business mogul.

“His dedication to the advancement of Ibadanland and its people transcends mere business; it embodies a passionate devotion that has established him as a key figure in local governance and community upliftment”

As he celebrates the milestone, the NUJ emphasised the importance of continuing his philanthropic work, urging other prosperous Ibadan indigenes to emulate his example and contribute meaningfully to the betterment of their birthplace.

“Home is the best,” said NUJ, “and those who have been blessed should look back and give back.”

On the birthday he celebrates every October 17th, the NUJ extended its warmest wishes to Sanusi, recognising his invaluable role in shaping a better future for Ibadan.

“As the community rallies around him, there’s hope that his legacy of compassion and progress will inspire many more to join in the noble quest of uplifting Oyo State and beyond. Happy birthday, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi. Here’s to a future filled with continued growth, impact, and joy.”
