The third batch of the intending Pilgrims from Oyo state are expected to join their counterparts at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, later Today .
The Chairman of the Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Muslim Wing, Sheikh Hashim Atere, disclosed this today in an interview granted shortly after addressing the remaining 110 intending Pilgrims at the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS).
The Board Chairman, who expressed appreciation to Allah for successful transit of the first and second batches to the Holy Land, hinted that the Deputy Governor of the State, Barrister Bayo Lawal will lead the third batch to Saudi Arabia.
According to the Chairman, the Deputy Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon . Mohammed Fadeyi , Commissioner for Environment, Alhaji Abdulmonjeed Mogbonjubola, his Special Duties Counterpart, Alhaja Fausot Saani, Chairman, Oyo State Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Kamorudeen Aderibigbe, Personal Assistant to the Governor, Alhaji Abdul Hakeem
Azeez and a host of others are to be with the intending Pilgrims.
He hinted that the state were given two flight schedules, saying that the plan of the board is to take advantage of the first schedule .
Sheikh Atere explained that the total numbers of Pilgrims from Oyo state for 2024 Hajj will be One Thousand, One Hundred ( 1,100) upon the departure of the third batch.
While appreciating the remaining batch for their understanding due to the delay in their flight shift, Sheik Atere urged them to see their delay as blessing
He enjoined them to take to the advise given by the Governor by being a good Ambassador of the State in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He said :” Alhamdulillahi, first and second batch of our Pilgrims have landed , 110 will leave today, including myself, and we are going to have a total of 1,100 for this year’s Hajj ‘
” I want to appeal to our Pilgrims to be patient , be good ambassadors of the State as advised by Governor Seyi Makinde during the Farewell ceremony , follow our instructions and abide by the rules and regulations of Saudi Arabia during their stay “
