Oyo State Mobilisation Agency for Socio-Economic Development, (OYMASED)has expressed it’s readiness to work with the National Orientation Agency (NOA) on Sensitization of citizens on the new Project of NOA, which is National Identity Project, ‘Nigeria Promise:7 for 7’.
The Director General of OYMASED, Dr. Morohunkola Thomas made this known during a courtesy visit NOA paid to his Office in Ibadan.
Dr. Morohunkola Thomas said the National Identity Project initiated by the Federal Government will make the citizens recognise their core values and also help in rememberance of the past, the present and plan for the future.
The DG stated that the components of the National Identity Project is beneficial for the citizens and the government at all levels. He noted that this project will make provision for the future generations while also calling on leaders to lead from the front for followers to also embrace the change.
He emphasized that OYMASED will synergise with the NOA to ensure that the aims of the National Identity Project is achieved within the shortest period of time.
In her remarks, the Oyo State NOA Director, Dr Mrs Olukemi Afolayan said the National Identity Project was approved by the Federal Executive Council this year.
Dr Afolayan noted that the nationwide campaign is ongoing and the aim of the project is to re-orientate citizens on the core values of the nation as well as bring to knowledge various implementation of the Federal Government to citizens especially in the state.
She further explained that the Project which has its identity as ‘Build Nigerians to build Nigeria’ will help in nation building, foster unity, and give information on what is expected from the government and the governed.
She appreciated the state government through the OYMASED for embracing the National Identity Project.
