Olubadan -In – Council has finally nominated Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland after a closed door meeting by the Kingmakers on Friday at Olubadan of Ibadan palace, Oja ‘ba.
Speaking on behalf of the Council, High Chief Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland said the Council has nominated Oba Owolabi Olakulehin as the next Olubadan of Ibadanland.
He further stated that nomination letter which has been signed during the Council meeting would be sent to the governor for his approval.
According to High Chief Ladoja, the coronation process would commence immediately after governor’s approval.
Oba Olakulehin joined active politics in 1992 shortly after retirement from the military and secured a seat in the House of Representatives to represent his Federal Constituency during the Third Republic under the then Social Democratic Party (SDP).
In attendance at the meeting were all members of the Olubadan -In -Council, including the newly nominated Olubadan of Ibadanland, except the Otun Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Abimbola Ajibola.
