Makinde Showered Encomium on Bayo Lawal’s Excellent Performance as Acting Governor

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Wednesday showered encomium on his Deputy, Barrister Bayo Lawal for his excellent performance as Acting Governor while he was away on vacation.

In his remarks during the groundbreaking ceremony of the upgrade of Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport at Alakia, Ibadan, the Governor said that the Deputy Governor performed excellently well as Acting Governor.

Recall that Governor Makinde, through the state House of Assembly, transmitted power to his Deputy to act on his behalf after proceeding on a four-week holiday.

He further disclosed that while he was on vacation, the Deputy Governor called him on a few occasions but didn’t take the call because he said the Acting Governor should use the power vested on him rather than reaching out to him, saying, “You have the power, it’s your headache”.

While extolling Barrister Bayo Lawal’s passion for the growth of the state, he expressed his gratitude for the spirit of brotherhood, friendship and dedication to the state.

The Governor, thereafter, commended those who supported the immediate Acting Governor while he was away, stating that he is impressed with his performance.

This will be the second time that Governor Makinde will be commending his deputy for his role in acting capacity Barr. Lawal as a loyal and dependable co-pilot.
