Ilaji Hotels Resort Group CEO, Dotun Sanusi, Wins ‘The Sun Hospitality Icon Award 2024’

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ilaji Hotels Resort Group, Chief (Dr.) Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has expressed profound gratitude to The Sun Publishing Limited, publishers of The Sun newspapers, for selecting him as the recipient of “The Sun Hospitality Icon of the Year Award 2024.

Chief (Dr.) Sanusi was informed of his selection for the prestigious Award through a formal letter signed by the Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of The Sun Publishing Limited, Mr. Onuoha Ukeh.

According to the letter, the Award will be presented at The Sun Awards ceremony on March 1, 2025, in Lagos. The letter also stated that a formal confirmation letter will be delivered to Chief Sanusi on December 10, 2024.

The letter reads: “The Management and Staff of The Sun Publishing Limited, publishers of Daily Sun, Saturday Sun, Sunday Sun, and Sporting Sun, bring you warm greetings. We felicitate with you on your achievements in office.

We write to notify you that the Board of Editors of The Sun Publishing Limited, after a rigorous selection process, has picked you as winner of The Sun Hospitality Icon of the Year Award 2024. The award will be formally presented to you at an elaborate ceremony on March 1, 2025, at the prestigious The Sun Awards in Lagos.”

Reacting to the notification, Chief (Dr.) Sanusi, who is also the Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland, expressed his delight at being recognized by one of Nigeria’s most reputable media organizations. He stated:
“I am truly enthralled by this recognition, particularly because it comes from a newspaper renowned for promoting equity, fairness, and excellence. This award underscores our commitment at Ilaji Hotels Resort Group to redefining hospitality standards in Nigeria and beyond. I dedicate this honor to the hardworking team at Ilaji Hotels, whose dedication and innovation have made our accomplishments possible.”

Chief (Dr.) Sanusi’s selection as The Sun Hospitality Icon of the Year reflects his outstanding contributions to the hospitality sector, his role in elevating tourism in Nigeria, and his commitment to community development and service.

The Sun Awards, which celebrates excellence and achievements across various sectors, remains a significant platform for recognizing individuals and organizations shaping Nigeria’s progress.
