The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ilaji Group, Asiwaju Dotun Sanusi on Sunday dissociated himself from an online support fund that has surfaced, bearing his name but operated by unscrupulous individuals.
He stated this in a disclaimer issued on Sunday, adding he has nothing to do whatsoever with the support fund and those behind it.
The fraudulent initiative was aimed at exploiting the generosity and goodwill of individuals, scamming them out of their hard-earned money.
Sanusi, a well-known humanitarian leader, restated the dedication of his life to alleviating the various hardships faced by the less fortunate.
He said his commitment to free humanitarian services was a reflection of his belief in the importance of supporting the community and providing relief during difficult times.
Sanusi emphasised that his mission was to cushion the effects of hardship on the masses, not to exacerbate their struggles.
In light of the fraudulent scheme, urged the public to remain vigilant and to avoid any transactions or donations related to the online fund claiming to represent him.
Sanusi, however, encouraged individuals to verify the authenticity of such initiatives before contributing, noting that his commitment to humanitarian work was genuine and free of ulterior motives.
Sanusi said he remained steadfast in his dedication to serving the community and hopes to raise awareness about the dangers of such scams that aim to tarnish reputations and exploit the goodwill of others.
