Gbajabiamila declares that federal workers across the board will receive ₦25,000 as a palliative measure.

Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has revealed that a palliative of ₦25,000 will be provided to federal employees at all levels to alleviate the impact of fuel subsidy removal.

This announcement was made on Sunday, following a meeting between the Federal Government and organized labor at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja. Gbajabiamila clarified that the ₦25,000, originally intended for low-grade federal workers, will now benefit workers across all levels. This statement comes amidst ongoing discussions with the National Labour Union (NLC) and the Trade Union Commission (TUC) to address the impending nationwide strike scheduled for October 3rd.

The meeting, organized by Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, is also attended by several ministers. Last Tuesday, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) leaders announced their decision to initiate an indefinite strike on October 3rd.
