ECOWAS commends Tinubu for appointing his media aide as an adviser to the Commission President.

Dr. Omar Alieu Touray, the President of the ECOWAS Commission, has expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria for appointing Mrs. Linda Nwabuwa Akhigbe, one of his newly appointed media aides, as a Communication Adviser to him.

On Monday, President Tinubu appointed Mrs. Akhigbe as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Strategic Communications and seconded her to the ECOWAS Commission President as a Communication Adviser.

In response to this development, Dr. Touray conveyed his best wishes to Mrs. Akhigbe for success in her new role, as per a statement released by the ECOWAS Commission in Abuja on Monday. The secondment, effective immediately, is for a renewable term of three months.

The statement reads: “The ECOWAS Commission is pleased to announce that the Presidency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has deployed Nigerian television broadcaster and presidential aide, Mrs. Linda Nwabuwa Akhigbe, as the Communications Adviser to the President of the ECOWAS Commission.”
