Breaking: Another Iseyin-Born Military Officer Kidnapped in Port Harcourt

A member of the Special Force Division of the Nigerian Army, Michael Olawale Toriola was on Thursday kidnapped in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Toriola, an indigene of Iseyin, was a former special aide to the former Chief of Army Staff, Yusuff Buratai and attended St. John’s Grammar School, Isalu, in Iseyin Local Government area of Oyo State.

A close relation of the soldier disclosed that hours after Michael’s abduction, his family was reached and the sum of four million naira (#4million) ransom was demanded, with the ultimatum of Saturday evening.

“He is my cousin, my mom is his father’s younger sister, we also went to St.John’s Grammar School together and we finished there in 2004.

It was just last week that I still prayed for him that God Almighty will continue to protect him, please help tell Nigerians to come to our aid o,” the relative, who sought anonymity said.

Recall that the family of Squadron Leader Olawale Popoola, his wife, Dr. Ganiyat Olawale Popoola and their nephew, Folaranmi were kidnapped at their quarters in Kaduna last December.

Squadron Leader Popoola was later released after the initial payment of #60million but the wife and Folaranmi are still with the kidnappers.
