Atiba Chairperson, Ashiat Adetunji Celebrates New Year with First Babies ….. Counsels on Maternal Care

Wife of the Executive Chairman of Atiba Local Government, Mrs Ashiat Adetunji, as part of new year celebration, felicitate first babies in the Council area.

The occasion took the Chairperson to Oke Olola Primary Healthcare Centre, where the first baby was delivered at 4:30 am to the family of Mr and Mrs Rokeeb and Waliat Mufutau of Otapo Compound, Isale Oyo. While congratulating the family, Mrs Adetunji expressed God’s goodness to them with the precious gift of a bouncing baby girl, as year 2025 unfolds.

Responding, Mrs Mufutau appreciated the kind gesture of the Chairperson and pray for divine guidance and blessings for her. She described the visit as surprising and the gifts great and unexpected.

Mrs Adetunji was also at Koso Primary Healthcare Centre where another baby boy was delivered at 5:25 am today by the family of Mr and Mrs Fatai and Alimot Adewale of Lakonu Compound, Oyo. Similarly, baby materials were presented to the lucky family.

Reacting to the baby gifts given to baby Adewale, the father of the lucky baby boy described the gesture as shocking and an indication of good things to come in the future. According to him, “it’s a signal to a greater future not only to the baby but also to the entire Adewale family.

In her brief remark, Head of the facility, Matron Odunola Oke expressed her joy that knew no bounds as in her words, “it’s a double celebration as I was also born on January 1 as the baby, so he is my birthday mate,” she stressed.

The Chairperson also seized the occasion to educate the mothers at both facilities on the importance of breastfeeding and the benefits of ensuring that babies get necessary immunization for prevention of diseases that threaten the well-being of babies.

She also delivered the goodwill message of Her Excellency, Engr. (Mrs) Tamunominini Makinde to the mothers whom she described “as a mother indeed who never toys with the welfare of the young ones” Health officers who took the deliveries were also appreciated by Mrs Adetunji with the charge that they put in their professional best at all times.

In the entourage of Mrs Adetunji were Hon. (Mrs) Musa Kaosarat Oriyomi, Chief Whip of the Legislative Council; Alhaja Gbadamosi Seidat, Director of Education and Social Services; Head of Community Development, Mrs Felicia Oyekola; Head of Information and Public Relations Unit, Pastor Bayo Ogunwale; Mrs. Tijani Folasade and Mrs. Asiru Kaosara, all of Education Department in Atiba Local Government, Ofa Meta, Oyo.
