A prominent Chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State and former Chairman of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle has implored Nigerian youths across the country to reconsider their planned nationwide protest.
In a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Friday, Ibikunle emphasised the need for patience and support for the administration of President Bola Tinubu during this crucial period.
The APC chieftain, who previously served as the Personal Assistant to the late Governor Lam Adesina and Special Adviser (Political) to Governor Abiola Ajimobi highlighted the challenges faced by the current administration and the efforts being made to address them.
Alhaji Ibikunle called on the youths to understand the complexities involved in steering the nation’s economy back on the path of progress, urging them to give the president time to implement his strategies.
In his words: “Though the nation’s economy was on the verge of collapse before Tinubu assumed office, he has, since his assumption of office, been trying to get the economy back on track,” Ibikunle stated.
He lauded the president’s dedication to exploring all possible avenues to revitalize the economy and bring about sustainable development.
The APC chieftain reassured Nigerians that the current hardships are temporary and that the efforts being made by the administration would soon yield positive results.
He, however, expressed confidence that the economic policies being implemented would eventually lead to prosperity for all citizens.
His appeal to the youths reflected his belief in the resilience and potential of the nation’s economy under President Tinubu’s leadership.
Alhaji Ibikunle concluded by urging the youths to join hands with the government in its quest to build a better future for the country.
