Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan has described Archbishop Lawrence Ayo Ladigbolu as a blessing to Oyo town and Nigeria as a country.
In a release made available by the Media and Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, Wale Adeoye, the University Chief Executive made this statement while felicitating Emeritus Archbishop Lawrence Ayo Ladigbolu on his 86th birthday today, June 27, 2024. According to the renowned Economist, “Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo Management, Staff and Students are glad to celebrate our revered father, Archbishop Lawrence Ayo Ladigbolu, Emeritus Archbishop of Methodist Church, Nigeria. To us as a University, our relationship with baba is cordial and of a father-children relationship. I must on behalf of the University Management appreciate baba for always being there for us. He was the Chairman during our 1st year anniversary in December, 2023. A few days ago, he was here as the Chairman, Maiden Annual Alumni Lecture and was with us all day. We are proud to celebrate baba Ladigbolu and it is our prayer to God Almighty that he enjoys the grace of God more in Jesus mighty name. Congratulations and a happy birthday daddy”, the statement read.
Archbishop Ayo Ladigbolu was born at Obayanrita compound, Oyo Kingdom of Oyo State, Nigeria on June 27, 1938. He was born by Alhaji Raji Akee Ladigbolu (His father) and Ayomo Munirat Aderonke Ladigbolu (His mother). His father was one of the princes of Alaafin Siyanbola Ladigbolu I who reigned between 1911 to 1944. Being a prince who was born and raised around the palace, his growing up was full of fun and exciting memories.
