Egbe Ajosepo Fun Itesiwaju Gbogbo Wa Commends Tinubu Over David Ige’s Appointment to NNPC Board

Egbe Ajosepo Fun Itesiwaju Gbogbo Wa has commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Dr. (Engr) David Oluseyi Ige as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited. The group, which advocates for the rotation of the governorship position in Oyo State, expressed its appreciation through its Public Relations Officer, Professor Jacob Olaniyi Babayemi.

The appointment, which took effect from April 2, 2025, was described as a perfect fit, considering Dr. Ige’s background and contributions to the energy sector. The group praised President Tinubu for considering the Ilero-born technocrat and Oke-Ogun native for the prestigious position, demonstrating his commitment to the principles of the Federal Character. Egbe Ajosepo Fun Itesiwaju Gbogbo Wa assured the president that Dr. Ige would utilize his knowledge and experience to bring about positive changes in the energy sector.

The man, Dr. (Engr) David Oluseyi Ige

Dr. Ige has over 25 years experience, cutting across the spheres of oil and gas, management consulting and academics.

His expertise included exploration, development and production of oil and natural gas, as well as midstream infrastructure and downstream disposal of hydrocarbons.

He notably initiated and developed the Nigeria Gas Master Plan and Policy.

Dr. (Engr) David Oluseyi Ige holds a First Class Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Lagos and a Ph.D in Engineering from Cambridge University.

He has international experience, having worked in different countries, including the United Kingdom, Norway, USA, Angola and Nigeria.
