Nollywood Stars, Saheed Balogun, Lalude, Others Shine at Ogbomoso Cradles Carnival with Unity-Themed Play

The Ogbomoso Cradles Carnival reached new heights on Saturday, as a stellar cast of Nollywood stars, including Saheed Balogun, Lalude Ojoge, Otolo, and Kukute, delivered a captivating stage play titled Isokan (Unity). The performance, a collaborative effort with the Theater and Movie Producers Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Ogbomoso Zone, highlighted the importance of unity and teamwork while reflecting on Ogbomoso’s current realities.

The day’s excitement was further amplified by a thrilling 30-minute football match featuring visually impaired athletes. The crowd was left in awe of the athletes’ remarkable skills, making the day an unforgettable experience. The Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III, attended the event, accompanied by traditional and honorary chiefs, and commended TAMPAN for the well-scripted play.

“This performance is commendable, but I expect next year’s edition to be even better. You have one year to plan—create something colorful with beautiful costumes and ensure it’s a remarkable experience,” the monarch said.

Today’s activities include a thanksgiving service to mark Oba Ghandi’s first coronation anniversary and a beauty pageant in the evening. The carnival will culminate on Monday with a grand finale at the Soun Township Stadium.

Dignitaries expected at the grand finale include the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde; Minister of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa; Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams; and other top government officials.
