Oyo PDP Women Leaders Endorse Dotun Sanusi’s Gubernatorial Ambition

The women wing of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State on Saturday pledged their unwavering support for the gubernatorial ambition of Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, the Jagunmolu Olubadan of Ibadanland, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The PDP local government women leaders from all 11 local government areas of Ibadanland, 4 local government areas of Oyo, and 3 local government areas of Ibarapa Zone unanimously endorsed the JDS Gubernatorial Movement for 2027 during a solidarity visit to Chief Sanusi.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Hon. Mariam Onikede, the Egbeda Women Leader, praised Chief Jubril Sanusi for his remarkable developmental and humanitarian contributions.

Representing the Ona Ara women, Hon. Oluwatosin Olaoye Asiata reaffirmed their full support for JDS Guber movement and called for a commitment to 40% female inclusion in the JDS administration if he emerges victorious.

Hon. Adenike Olaniyan, the Women Leader of Governor Seyi Makinde’s local government, Ibadan North East, thereafter offered prayers for Chief Sanusi’s success in his quest for the governorship.

Other women leaders from various local government areas include Rasidat Adekunle, Oyo West; Alao Nurat Lola Also, Atiba; Oyeyemi Samson, Afijio; Simbiat Jimoh, Oyo East; Felicia Ogunbiyi, Ibarapa; Ayo Funmi Bakare, Akinyẹle and Basirat Alao from Oluyole echoed their support, emphasizing their belief in Chief Jubril Sanusi’s leadership and vision for the future of Oyo State.

In his response, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, who is also the Asiwaju of Ona Ara Local Government expressed deep gratitude to the PDP women’s wing for their steadfast support.

He, however, encouraged them to continue their mobilization efforts, assuring them that if God wills his victory, their requests for greater female representation will be a key part of his manifesto and will be addressed when he assumes office.

This declaration of support from the PDP women leaders further boost Chief Sanusi’s gubernatorial bid, reflecting the growing momentum behind his campaign.
