Former Oyo State Governor and Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja has described the passing of Chief Michael Koleoso as most unfortunate. Koleoso, a former Secretary to the Oyo state Government died yesterday at 86.
Oba Ladoja, in a statement signed by Adeola Oloko and made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Tuesday, noted that his personal association with the departed politician and elder statesman dates back to over 30 years,even though he had been hearing about him during the Bola Ige Administration between 1979 and 1983.
He recalled that in the course of his political career, they had had cause to meet. He stated that even when party differences occasionally separated both of them, he still regarded him as a big brother for whom he had tremendous amount of respect.
Oba Ladoja who described the departed Chief Koleoso as a remarkable business man and political titan, said that the exit of the iconic politician is not only a terrible blow to Oke-Ogun but also Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
While mourning his exit at a time like this, the former Oyo state Governor urged his numerous relatives and friends to take solace in the fact that Chief Koleoso’s lifetime was a life well spent not only in the service of God, but also the humanity as a whole.
Oba Ladoja, while praying for the repose of his soul, also prayed God to give his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
He, however, urged the people of Saki in Oke-Ogun Area of Oyo State under the leadership of Kabiesi, the Okere of Saki to take heart.
