The football governing body in Oyo State capital, Ibadan Football Council (IFC) has promised to continue to support the State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN).
The IFC Chairman, Mogaji Rotimi Alli voiced the support of the Council to the body of sports journalists in Oyo State while playing host to the recently elected executives of Oyo State chapter of SWAN who paid him a familiarisation visit at the Olubadan Stadium office of IFC on Friday.
The visit to the IFC Boss, the first since the new executives assumed office, was led by Comrade Ayomiku Ajibola, the Chairman of Oyo SWAN. They were accompanied by Mr. Niyi Alebiosu, the immediate past chairman of Oyo SWAN, who introduced the new Executive members to Mogaji Rotimi Alli.
Welcoming the guests to his office, Mogaji Alli commended the new executives for the visit and charged them to sanitize the Association and ensure professionalism.
He promised to assist the new Oyo SWAN leadership to ensure a successful tenure.
Comrade Ayomiku Ajibola, in his response, thanked Mogaji Rotimi Alli for his audience and highlighted the steps already taken by the new executives to uphold professionalism in Oyo SWAN.
During the visit, Mr. Alebiosu thanked the IFC Chairman for his consistent support to Oyo SWAN and urged him to extend the support he (Alebiosu) enjoyed from him during his tenure to the new executives.
The courtesy visit marks the beginning of a new chapter in the relationship between Oyo SWAN and the Ibadan Football Council, with a shared commitment to promoting sports development in Ibadan and Oyo State at large.
Other Oyo SWAN Executive committee members present included the Associations’ Secretary Mr Boluwaji Ogunmola, Assistant Secretary Miss Anabel Enahoro as well as the Financial Secretary Mr. Wale Olaniyan.
Coach Idowu Akintola, Vice-Chairman, and Mr. Folorunsho Oyelakin, the General Secretary of the Council joined the Chairman in hosting the visitors.
