The Vice-Chancellor, Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan has felicitated Muslim faithful and members of the University community on the celebration of this year’s Eid-el Kabir festival.
According to the Chief Executive Officer, “Eid-el Kabir festival is highly symbolic to Muslim faithful. It shows the special love of the Almighty Allah to mankind as reflected in the replacement of Ishmail, Prophet Ibrahim’s son with a ram for sacrifice. There is no less a way of giving us love and peace than this and we must always give thanks to God Almighty.”
Speaking further, the Eruwa-born administrator urged Islamic faithful to use the occasion of Eid-al Adha Celebration to pray against the worsening insecurity problems bedeviling the country and for the restoration of peace to the entire nation. He further enjoined members of the University community to join his administration in placing the University on the right track among the comity of world universities. “I urge our Islamic faithful to, in the spirit of the Eid-el Kabir festival join and pray for our administration as we jointly put the University on the right track. We cannot do it alone but with the support of the entire workforce of the University. With our collective support, I am sure our institution shall set a good pace among other universities in the country. May Almighty Allah accept our celebrations as an act of ibadah during the Eid Kabir”, the renowned Economist submitted.
According to a release by ‘Wale Adeoye, the institution’s Media and Public Relations Officer, the University helmsman while wishing the Muslim Ummah a peaceful Eid-el-Kabir, filled with the blessings and benevolence of Almighty Allah further admonished the entire Emmanuel Alayande University of Education family to use the occasion of this year Eid-el Kabir celebration to rededicate themselves to charting the path of progress for the university on one hand and pray for the peace and progress of Oyo State under the leadership of our amiable Governor, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE on the other hand.
